Hadleigh firsts continue with their mixed season of results. After last weeks disappointing performance a useful display saw them beat Maldon by 18 runs.

Batting first Hadleigh made a competitive 265 for 5.

Young Isaac Toombs opening and making a fine 56 before being caught off Pugh , Matthew Kent reached 52 before he became Pugh’s second wicket and Tom Piggington hit a quick fire 58 before Pugh had him stumped.

Callum Morrin made 48 and Ben Wallis 24 with only Marlon Dias (4) and Kudzai Maunze (3) not reaching double figures.

Maldon’s reply was steady with Bryant snd Ainscough , 71 for 1 followed by 93 for 2 set a steady platform but at 133 for 6 the hosts were coasting to victory.

Useful contributions from Anderson and Wild took their side to within 18 of Hadleigh’s 265.

Maunze picking up 3 wickets for 37 and Daniel shanks 2 wickets for 43
